(April 16, 2015) Telenor Satellite announces that Arianespace has confirmed that the THOR 7 satellite is now scheduled to launch on April 24, 2015, between the hours of 19:38 and 21:32 UTC (21:38-23:32 CEST).

THOR 7, Telenor Satellite’s first growth satellite - which will deliver satellite services throughout Europe - is now ready for its launch on board the Ariane 5 launcher, designated flight VA222, which will also carry SICRAL 2 for Telespazia, on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Defence.

A live webcast will be available via a link on Telenor Satellite’s website, www.telenorsat.com/thor7, and the video transmission of the THOR 7 launch will start about 15 minutes before lift-off.

THOR 7 is Telenor Satellite’s first growth satellite, delivering satellite services for the future expansion requirements of all the markets in which we operate. The satellite is equipped with both a Ku-band and an HTS (High Throughput Satellite) Ka-band payload.
