Telenor Satellite announces approval of Intellian v100NX and v60Ka 2 antennas

Telenor Satellite, Europe’s most versatile satellite operator, has announced its approval of two new Intellian antennas, the v100NX and v60Ka 2, both of which will be used with Telenor Satellite’s Anker Maritime THOR 7 Ka or Ku band services.

Telenor Satellite approves Intellian v60Ka 2 and v100NX antennas for THOR 7 Ka and Ku

THOR 7 has long been established as the optimal choice for clients looking for high-speed high throughput VSAT connectivity across Europe. Its high-powered spot beam technology makes it an ideal choice for a wide range of vessels operating throughout the main European sea routes, from the Barents Sea in the north, to the Mediterranean Sea in the south.

v100NX

The v100NX is a future-proof antenna system with highly accurate satellite tracking performance. It is designed for simple installation and maintenance, and is easy to convert from Ku- to Ka-band so that current users can take advantage of the higher performance offered by the Ka-band on Telenor Satellite’s THOR 7 satellite. The system comes with a standard 5W BUC in Ka (8W BUC in Ku), and can be ordered with additional BUC alternatives for even more powerful Ka- and Ku-band connectivity. The v100NX offers a new integrated management control software, AptusNX, which provides a responsive web user interface, intelligent antenna diagnostics and reporting.

Offering reliable and stable connectivity to support critical operations and handling large amounts of data, the v100NX is ideal for use onboard merchant ships, offshore support vessels, cruise ships and superyachts.

v60Ka 2

Perfect for smaller vessel operators such as fishing vessels or yachts where space is limited, v60Ka 2 is light, compact and affordable. It delivers high performance with a standard 5W BUC with a 10W BUC option available for high bandwidth users in Ka.

It is designed for easy installation and reliable connectivity for vessels operating even in the harshest offshore environments. The v60Ka 2 uses Intellian’s integrated AptusNX platform to provide a responsive web user interface to manage and control the antenna system.

“We’re very proud to have another endorsement of our products with this certification from Telenor Satellite,” says Jon Harrison, Intellian VP & GM Strategic Accounts and EMEA BU. “The company’s type approval for the v60Ka 2 and v100NX Ka marks another positive step in our mutual quest to provide the best-performing, most flexible maritime mobility VSAT service in Europe at the most competitive price.”

Jan Hetland, Director of Data Services at Telenor Satellite, said: “We are delighted to be able to approve both of these new antennas from Intellian for use with our Anker Managed Services. These flexible antenna systems offer the very high standards of quality that we expect from antenna hardware and are innovative and technologically advanced, fully reflecting our forward-looking service provision. It is imperative to us that our partner companies share our ethos of excellence and customer-led service and that is the case with Intellian. Together with THOR 7, these new antennas will deliver outstanding Ka-band and Ku-band connectivity to our maritime customers.”
